"Riverbank at Willington".
This is one of the most successful oils I have ever done. It is alongside a footpath at Willington which was actually to the left of this cow parsley whilst the stream was to the right. I owned an old LandRover in those days, which was eventually stolen. I parked it in the field on the other side of the stream and did this sitting amongst the cow parsley which smelt wonderful. I remember getting on a real roll in the small hours of the morning finishing it in my studio. A bullock managed to break a wing mirror off the LandRover by rubbing his neck on it.
