Hyde Park looking towards the Serpentine.
This was painted on site. I spent some time doing larger oil from it along with photographs and sketches done at the scene. I was partly inspired by a painting called "the sacred grove" by Pierre Puvis de Chavannes. I envisaged a modern version where, instead of classical folk floating around in Greek dress, contemporary folk were to be seen playing with frisbees and canoodling. I eventually got hopelessly bogged down with the technical problems and abandoned it.
